The Projects Department of AFCON Software and Electronics specializes in developing custom-made projects, combining its system engineering know-how with a vast knowledge in the ICT area.
The experience of the Projects Department includes design, development and implementation of ICT Systems. These include Wired and Wireless communication technologies, GIS systems, telemedicine software applications, Data-warehousing, Business Intelligence, Expert Systems and DSS (Decision Support Systems), User Interfaces for Web and Win applications and more.
The Projects Department is experienced in management of R&D projects and in testing, integrating and validating such systems.
AFCON Software and Electronics Ltd. participates in several international, EU funded projects and acts as leader of the ICT Work package in several FP6/7 IP projects. In addition, AFCON provides custom solutions as part of large integrative, customer targeted projects.
AGILE Project
The AGILE project aim is to develop and evaluate an integrated Large-Scale Control Systems (LSCS)-design methodology, applicable to large-scale systems of arbitrary scale, heterogeneity and complexity and capable of:
- Providing pro-active, arbitrarily-close-to-optimal LSCS performance;
- Being intrinsically self-tuneable, able to rapidly and efficiently optimize LSCS performance when short- medium- and long-time variations affect the large-scale system;
- Providing efficient, rapid and safe fault-recovery and LSCS re-configuration; and,
- Achieving all the above, while being scalable and modular.
The project is funded by the EU 7th Funding Program.

HuSIMS Project
The HuSIMS (Human Situation Monitoring System) project aims to improve security in densely populated areas by providing a dense mesh of intelligent visual sensors that is sensitive to irregular behavior patterns in the monitored area. The development will improve safety and security in city centers, train stations, office buildings etc. Detection of anomalous events will trigger the appropriate emergency action and provide visual notification - without compromising personal privacy.
The project will be built by Celtic consortium of 12 EU partners, 3 of which are Israeli.
The Israeli partners will be funded by the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist.
