Afcon is proud to announce the release of a new Siemens Driver for Siemens S7 TCP/IP.
The new driver allows P-CIM users to communicate to Siemens S7 PLCs over TCP/IP without the need of specific Siemens software or hardware..jpg)
Afcon S7/TCP driver offers faster, easier to use and cheaper solutions than the existing solutions since the Siemens SIMATIC NET is not required.
Using the Afcon S7 TCP/IP driver with a standard Ethernet network card will provide an excellent performance with one or multiple PLCs.
With the Siemens S7/TCP driver you can work with two redundancy methods; standard method, based on timeout parameters, and advanced method, called Active/Passive method, based on fixed intervals. In this method, the driver checks the current status of each PLC to determine whether they are reachable. According to their status, it is determined whether to continue working with the primary PLC or to switch to the secondary PLC.
The Redundancy capability enables you to automatically switch between the servers during run time, according to the method most suitable for your needs.
In addition, the redundancy capability enables the operator to determine whether the target device is no longer operable, and to manually switch between the servers.
